I'm not seeing this anywhere. Usually, Yahoo is the first to break the rumor mill stuff and I haven't seen anything

they aren't getting both gasol and bynum. that's 30+ million in salaries.

The lakers would just sit back trade one during the season to free cap space and sign howard as a FA in 2012.

I'm 95% assured that Howard will be a Laker either via trade or FA signing by 2012.

The Lakers should blow it up by trading Kobe for Howard and Bynum for Westbrook.

unless howard signs for the min or an exception, it can't happen

the lakers have $61M in salary tied up in 2013/14 for FOUR players (kobe, gasol, artest, blake)

This and by going get him now, it means the Lakers will likely have a deal in place with Howard before the trade is completed.

Why wait until the offseason when Howard can go anywhere when you can get him right now for the same thing? Kobe isn't getting any younger and you have to get the most out of him as you can.

It's also good for Orlando, especially if Ewing stays there and can help coach Bynum, and plus they are still in title contention with this deal

You act as if the Magic don't have plenty of players and salary to make it happen.

I am pretty sure that it would be impossible for the Lakers to just sign a near max FA next offseason. They just have too much payroll. They would have to do a sign and trade. So the magic can keep requesting big stuff from the Lakers.

yeah, but there's no hard cap coming towards the nba and teams will have some grandfathered flexibility.

bynum and gasol will probably be traded but not for one player.

Another legit tweet from this guy:

Marvin Williams will go to dallas in the 3 team trade, Mavericks are not expected to re-sign Caron Butler according to one of my sources.

He first broke it 3 hours ago?

Figured somebody more reputable would be saying something if true.

Looks like the dude is attention whoring and trying to get followers.

dude

that's so the lakers can get in line with the new cap or "maximum salary"

not for the lakers to take on even more salary

if they dropped HALF their payroll, they still couldn't sign howard to a max deal

Gasol/Bynum and Howard package would be fair and legit IMO. The Magic have role players they could send the Lakers way also to make it work on the Laker side.

A straight up Bynum/Gasol for Arenas/Howard trade probably works financially.

Lakers Starters:
Arenas
Bryant
Artest
Odom
Howard

yeah bynum/gasol for howard/arenas would actually be a reasonable deal for both teams

if the lakers somehow pull off the rumored deals of gasol/love and bynum/odom for howard/arenas i'm going to be blown away
