Rory McIlroy shoots 80 in Irish Open 1st Round

In McIlroy's first year as host of the Irish Open he opens with a 9 bogey no birdie round of 80.
This is only McIlroy's 4th tournament round since shooting 61 two weeks ago.
Is there any golfer or athlete period with higher highs and lower lows than Rory? At any point he can run away with a tournament and then follow by shooting 80.

rickie fowler is also in the field ... shot even ... hope to see some of this course on tv ... thinking about going over next summer to play ...

The course is beautiful. I've walked a few of the holes and it really is incredible. I'm hoping to play there as well at some point. They're showing a lot of the tourney on the golf channel this week.

Something tells me that Rory works hard for a couple of months, bags a couple of big tournaments, then takes a few weeks off with some serious partying.
