Coming up on Tennis Channel now. Should be a banger. Carrot top the doper is back and a wrecking machine. Casper Ruud won Madrid two weeks ago and Sinner issued him a bagel and breadstick. Tommy Paul went crazy and took a set 6-1 on him the next round, then Sinner flipped the switch and pounded him. Sinner is the favorite at -170, Carlos +140. Oh, and Sinner is blessed now.

Crazy how Sinner takes his 3 month ban, walks into the court and rolls through a Masters tournament.

I guess it helps that he's fresh (though rust was a risk) and everyone else has been grinding.

Alcaraz fought off a couple of set points at 5-6, then was a little crisper in the breaker.

Alcaraz saves his best tennis for set point. Let's go Carlos.

I believe Alcaraz will regain the #1 ranking this year.

Agreed. Hopefully, he can carry it through at the French.

Carlos wins 7-6, 6-1.

He's got a decent lead in the Race to Turin standings (Year to date only points rankings) but there's a lot to play including 3 Slams.

I think it's safe to say the new era is here.

Race standings:

Medvedev (16), Rublev (23), Fritz (19) Tsitsipas (17) all with bad starts to the year. Meanwhile you have Draper (4), Musetti (6) and Mensik (8) sitting in the Top 8.
