Last time I checked a fly ball comes down

Yep, just like every other homerun hit, as soon as the ball gets to the yellow on top of the walls, they stop their momentum and drop straight down regardless of the trajectory of the ball.

I feel we're over looking the real point of discussion.

Grown men who take gloves to a professional game to chase foul balls like children should be mocked relentlessly.

That's pathetic a grown man is leaning so far over to interfere. Sit your butt down and watch the game.

40 years old trying to catch a ball like a child.

I watched the play.

WAS it possible that the ball could have been caught (had the dopey fan not interfered?)

YES.

Good call, gutsy call, Blue.

Respectfully disagree, brutha.

The left-fielder definitely had a possible shot at catching that ball.

Moron-Fan Interference.

You snagged THE definitive shot and angle right here (and call)

Nitwit is definitely leaning over the yellow-line barrier into the field of play.

LF's glove is open poised to possibly catch the descending baseball.

I question if the fielder had a legitimate shot at getting his glove on that, and I don't think he can make that catch. The ball hit that fan's glove at a point higher than the fielder was able to jump. The fielder was unable to get his glove further back over the wall because of the way he jumped into the wall; HOWEVER, the fan leaned over the wall and obstructed the fielder from being able to make his best attempt. It was the correct call by the umps to overturn the call and rule fan interference.
