The aerial footage at the beginning of that game was amazing. The smog back then was out of control.

Again… He’s one of the best all time. I don’t see what I said that is so bad? Top 10 of anything is greatness. I just have some I enjoyed listening to more

The stories he would tell were awesome. The best ever imo.

I remember dozing off to sleep listening to him in the background. Once I vividly remember him talking about Torii Hunter's dad and a crack pipe. Golden. He had no shame.

Wish Vin Scully called my LL games and Stickball Games.

Only legendary NY Yankee PA announcer, Bob Sheppard could be considered a "voice" of Baseball ("The voice of God" according to Reggie Jackson)

Imagine Vin Scully calling a poker game? ("And guess who has a full boat??")

He was a man of strong faith. After his wife passed recently, he did an interview a couple months later and he said something to the effect of "I have lived a great life and when the time comes, I'm ready to go see Sandi, hopefully soon". He was a man who was obviously at peace with the fact that he lived well and was ready to go.

What immense respect for the guy. So inspirational. And he feared not because he knew what was waiting for him in God's Kingdom.

This man's positivity and good cheer was received by osmosis to his listeners. Vin Scully was a legendary announcer. But importantly, he shared his light in this world.

That's a shame he didn't get assigned NFL games when he jumped to NBC. He was just as good working football games too.

People say "The Catch" is overrated. If it is, it's because of Vin's great call that elevated it. While Buck's "Helmet Catch" call sucks arse.

"The upstart forty-niners are 6 yards from Pontiac. Montana, looking, looking...Throwing in the endzone..

Clark caught it! Dwight Clark!

(30 seconds of silence) nothing but crowd noise.

"It's a madhouse at Candlestick with 51 seconds left.

Dwight Clark is six-four, he stands about 10 feet tall in this crowd's estimation."

I've been watching some Scully videos and his greatest strength was his mind and memory.

I've come to realize he was basically the Mark Twain of the sports world.

A great storyteller, who just happened to call sports.

It would have been awesome if NBC would have let him bounce back and forth between the NFL and MLB like FOX let Buck do. Imagine how great it would have been to listen to Scully on those Super Bowls.
