Restructure the draft to decentivize tanking

The way the NFL (other sports too but I'm just going to focus on football here) draft is set up is ludacris, rewarding the poorest-performing teams in an attempt to create parity.

Here's my suggestion:
1 Randomly select draft order every two years - I know this would be difficult to pull off without people crying "rigged!" but there are ways.
2. The year after each drawing year, simply flip the order of the previous year.
3. For God's sake make it a snake draft (last pick of the first round gets first pick of second round). This one is a no-brainer.

Thoughts, glaring holes in my plan that I've overlooked?

Is tanking a big issue in the NFL?

It's honestly hard to tell - you watch the Browns and really can't decide.

But this would also at least give college superstars a CHANCE of ending up in a better franchise.

Im genuinely curious to hear why y'all prefer the current setup where losers get rewarded.

Because it keeps those fanbases engaged. Football is still one of the only professional sports where each team is only a good draft or 2 from making the playoffs. So fans stick around and don’t bail. Your solution is for a problem that doesn’t exist.

Boy, the Browns sure are committed to the tank. They've been bad literally forever

the whole point is a slant on affirmative action like ideal, the point is to give the worst teams the chance to pick from the best players first so it make the bad teams better and your not giving perennial powerhouse teams the chance to pick from the best players first so it makes the good teams unbeatable having an unfair advantage.

i thought this was obvious and just common sense to understand

there has been no evidence that teams tank for better draft picks, as far as the saints go its clearly demonstrated they love to get worse draft order picks by winning meaningless games each year to pick in the low teens when if they just lose those games they would get to pick in the top 10 the last few years. then they give away draft picks to trade up into higher spots its madness to watch i tell you but no, teams dont tank for draft picks, at least not in blatantly obvious ways but ya they might hedge by not trying hard hoping to get a number or two higher picks
