yes. but i don't live in Louisiana anymore. and I don't have the the patience to spend much time on the Rant. I guess I have heard of the other Dandy Don - he's a talk show host or recruiting guy or something. I honestly had no idea my post would be mistaken for him.

Regarding Don Meredith. He was a great QB for the Dallas Cowboys, inducted into the Ring of Honor. He was the QB in the infamous "Ice Bowl" game in Green Bay. He went on to become a color commentator with Howard Cosell on Monday Night Football, for which he won an Emmy. Before ESPN, kids like me would tune in to Monday Night Football to see the halftime highlights. I can still remember only having three channels to watch on TV, and no internet. So Monday Night Football gained great pop culture status in the 70's - and Dandy Don Meredith was essential to that. Quite frankly, he's a legend - even people who hated the Cowboys loved him on MNF.

Walt Garrison

Walt told a story last night about when a Cowboys plane flight dropped 300' after a loud boom. All the players were freaking out and Walt looked over at Don Meredith who was taking a drag on a cigarette and sipping a scotch ans said "It's been a good 'un".

RIP, Dandy Don from a die-hard Saints fan.

Missing from his accolades in this thread is his epic appearance on King of the Hill. You really tried hard to win that contest for Hank even though you kept your jacket on.
