If that was the truth, why did Mack last until the 5th pick?

Because pass rushing DEs, franchise QBs, stud WRs and dominant LTs are "sexier" or more valuable (on paper) than a versatile linebacker.

I was so hoping Atlanta landed this guy

He's a GM killer. Guy should be fired right now. If you couldn't see what a lazy POS he was in college then you shouldn't be a GM

He had one good year and one spectacular play. im not even sure he's a first round talent.

Everyone here said he had bust written all over him during his last year in college

It's not hindsight, it's "duh"

too bad the underwear Olympics are a measure of your athletic ability and not your talent for the position

DE who are nothing more than speed rushers don't fare well at the next level. Pat Kirwan really harped on this in regards to clowney as well. If you don't have moves, then your 4.5 40 doesn't mean shite

Nothing more than a speed rusher and he doesn't have moves?

None of that has anything to do with him being injured.

Whether he has pass rushing moves, is lazy, or took off his junior year isn't his issue right now.

No shite. Doesn't mean we can't discuss it.

NFL draft insider Tony Pauline has heard from a "number of people" that there is "serious concern" about Texans OLB Jadeveon Clowney's surgically repaired knee.

This report is the opposite of what is coming out here in Houston. While I will take what the team officials like Smith and O'Brien say with a grain of salt. Some that says "a number of people" has pretty much no credibility and is just throwing shite at the wall. Clowney had micro fracture surgery. That's very serious and casts doubt on his future but we knew that in December, so it is nothing new, and if he can't name a source, it is just sensationalized crap.

at least now we know why you aren't a GM. I can see having questions about his work ethic, not wanting him with the #1 pick, even saying you think he will be a bust, but he clearly has first round talent.

I remember a number of Saints fans hoping Atlanta would draft him before the draft.

Of course no one can predict things, especially an injury.. but there were really concerning things going on with Clowney. His Junior season was nothing like his Sophomore season. He should have improved upon his career, not vice versa.. Then South Carolina kinda just let him do his own thing, and at times his work ethic was questioned.
