I just moved to Houston 2.5 years ago... Needless to say, the 7 or so games I've been to have been irrelevant.
But... it's always a good time. Even though, I don't like regular season baseball.
Here's hoping that they'll turn around soon enough so my daughters could have some great childhood memories in minute maid.

Went to the All-star gala the day before the alll star game in 86 and watched Strawberry hit a few off of the speakers.
Also was at a game that the Astros won on a close play at the plate and Gary Carter was pissed that he didn't get the call and threw the ball and it one hopped the center field fence.

in '86 I was a sophomore in high school, and was doing my homework after school in my room, but had game 6 of Mets/Astros on. I remember going nuts when billy hatcher hit that homerun in extra innings to tie the game. i really hated the mets, was so pissed that the astros lost that one. still a great baseball game.

I went to Micheal Bourn bobble-head day once. Yep that's the highlight of the 2011 season.
As a young kid I would visit my grandfather in Lake Charles for a week or two at a time and we'd make it over for an Astros game. I have a team photo from 89 which has both Mike Scott and Nolan Ryan in it. I know I saw at least the Cubs and the Dodgers in that time frame and probably a couple of others that I cannot recall. I also got to see Bagwell during his first full season with the Astros. At my parents I'm sure my mid-90's Bagwell jersey is in my old closet.

The often forgotten part about the 18 inning game is that with 2 outs in the the bottom of the 9th, Brad Freaking Ausmus hits his 2nd homer of the YEAR to tie it up.
I'm not able to go to many astros games. But I went to this. By far my most memorable astros game. Although innings 10-17 were boring as hell
I remember when Clemens came in in the 18th to close it out. I heard the next guy in line to pitch after clemens for us was our RF (Luke scott I think).
The best part about that game was that we were sitting in the nose bleeds but then a bunch of people left before we made the comeback so we got to go sit down by the 3rd base side to watch the rest of the game.

Went to quite a few Spring Training games as a kid... Met JR Richards, Art Howe, Joe Sambito, Dan Larson, Enos Cabell, and Chao. JR was one of the nicest players to the fans, just a huge presence and very friendly. I cried my eyes out when I heard about JR's stroke.
Art Howe was one of my favorite players growing up - not because he was a *great* talent, but because he played HARD every single game. Dickie Thon, Terry Puhl, and Craig Biggio all followed the Art Howe mold.
I've seen the Astros play in FL, Altlanta, Chicago, Denver, Anaheim, Los Angeles, and of course Houston. I actually saw the last 2 games ever played in the Dome - playoff games against the Braves. Man, the pitchers we got to see in those 2 games alone could fill up a "First Vote HOF" ballot.
I can't wait for first pitch!

68 All Star game. Willie Mays mvp for his run scored. Only run scored. I think it was his birthday too. Stayed at the Warwick. After the game my parents went up to the restaruant/bar at the top and rode with Pee Wee Reese/Curt Gowdy/Don Drysdale, who were the commentators for the game.
Always went to the cardinals series in May. My whole family were cardinal fans, wtf, except me. Had fake ID in hs, and bought beer when I was 15. Nickel beer night was the bomb. Got my 12 year old cousin shitfaced.
80 extra game against the dodgers, listened to it in the car fixing to go squirrel hunting.
86 game two against the mets. Ryan losses, with no run support.
Last game in the astrodome.
Giving braves fan the tomahawk chop back at em when the astros took the lead at Enron, ha.
Clemens last game at home for the stros. By the way Doug Radars nickname was the rooster.

I was born & raised 100 miles east of Houston and had an aunt & uncle who lived there. Saw a bunch of games after I graduated from HS in 1965 and a few games in 1966 before I entered the Air Force.
Morgan, Wynn, Kasko, Aspromonte, Staub, Wilson, Dierker. Those were the days.

Not quite. It was going to be Jason Lane. He was a pitcher at USC, before the Stros switched him to outfielder. I'm glad we didn't have to put him in, lol.

When I was about 13 I went with my grandma to mass in Sugar Land.... she starts chatting it up with some old dude, I'm not really paying attention. After a minute, I realize it's this dude:
She calls him "jimbo" but I of course know him as Mattress Mac. He starts talking to me about the Astros and whatnot....
Two weeks later we got mail from him. He gave me and my dad season tickets that year in the mezzanine right below the "740 KTRH" sign.
One of the best summers of my life, so many games with my old man. You can't get that time back.

1989 mid summer I watched Astros beat the Dodgers 5-4 in a 22 inning game. Cool thing is I didn't get there until the 12th around 9:30pm. Game lasted until 1:45am. The score was like 4-4 in the 7th inning.
I watched Luis Salazar from the Cubs crush a ball to the upper deck in the Dome. Still the farthest ball I've seen hit in person.
Watched Daryl hit 3 Jacks in one game at the Dome.
Mark Grace hit the cycle in the Dome.
**Now I think about it, all I ever saw was other teams kicking arse in the dome.
-Minute Maid
Went to game 4 of the '05 NLCS
Use to go to alot of games in '05-'06.

My dad took me to see the colt 45s in 1961 I believe. We could see the dome under construction. Bob Aspremonte hit the game winner. That and the mosquitoes is about all I remember. So glad they built a dome.

I saw a couple of 45s games as a kid. Mosquitos and humidity are the memories.

Saw them play Atlanta in the dome when i was about 13 or so. Remember it being a dump to be honest, but it was old. Minute Made is absolutely beautiful, and a great venue for baseball. Hope this league change and new ownership turns them around.
