It was a really close call. I thought it was a block.
Let me say this, if the rule is that your foot has to be physically touching the restricted line for it to be a block, then that rule is idiotic. A defender could be on the balls of their feet just outside of the restricted area with the back half of their feet inside the arc, but not touching, and it could be called a charge? Beyond stupid.
And as other people have said numerous times, they need to get rid of this crap where defenders can slide over and take charges after an offensive player has left their feet.

I'm not happy. I'm very upset about this. I actually only had ISU to the Sweet 16, this game didn't destroy my bracket.
This isn't about my bracket though.

That isn't the rule. If you're hovering over then you're in the zone, head of officials was on CBS after the game.

What is it about? Shitty refs? Welcome to college basketball/most sports.

It's about a team I enjoy watching play got screwed.
I'm calm now. My favorite team is still in.

OK I missed that then. But the idiots announcing the game implied that was the rule.
In that case, it was a bad call.

Guy for CBS says its likely that it was a block and not a charge.

The block/charge call is a tool for refs to control the game. It seems like most calls are predetermined before it actually happens.
I think the charge is one of the worst calls in all of sports. You shouldn't be able to run to a spot to draw a charge .1 of a second before the offensive player leaves the floor.
Its a pussy move to sliiiddddeee under an offensive player. What happened to defending?

People are only bitching about this call if they like ISU or hate Ohio state, and even then only bc it happened late in the game. Anyone who watches cbb knows that play is called a charge 90% of the time. It's stupid and there needs to be a systemic overhaul of the way charges/blocks are called, but this is much ado about nothing. It's like in last years nba finals when everyone was up in arms about lebrons "foul" on durant at the end of game 2.

That fricking block/charge call is ruining college basketball.
agreed... they need to make the circle bigger... like double it.

It always amazes me that people say one call cost a team a game. Iowa State had other opportunities to win the game...not based on that one call that could've went either way.
This was a great game and ISU played a great game....but in the end, they did not get the job done.

Wrong. Anytime I can argue against charges, I do. Most of the time its a bitch move.
