It is a very good trade for the Padres and, as a Reds fan, I really like it for Cincinnati. The Reds have a 2 year window to make noise and after wasting a year, they have at least picked a direction (playing for now). A steep price but I think it was a good move. I'd prefer Latos to any of the other guys that had been thrown around (Shields, Gonzales being the other two good ones). 4 years of control is nice.

First year after TJ surgery is pretty rough. As good as Wainwright is, he could very well struggle.

Arroyo is a huge wildcard this year. He sucked balls last year after having a great 2010. I'm sure the mono played a huge role, but he needs to bounce the frick back.

I don't know about being frickstomped... but he has been trending in the wrong direction. At least his K rate was up which is a good sign... and he was quite unlucky last year too.
