AND to top it off they will likely RAPE Cleveland in the trade. They always seem to get the better end of trades lately....
That being said, it is far from being done it appears...

The reporter that reported it just said somebody hacked his account and that the rumor isnt true.
No way Boston gets Lee without giving up Buchholz

Don't they have enough pitching? What's the point?

You can't really count on Dice-K and Smoltz at this point.
Beckett, Lester, Wakefield, and who else? Buchholz? Buchholz isn't going to be a dominant 4th starter this year, not even close.

Cliff Lee was a one hit wonder btw.

Eh, he was pretty good back in 2005.. 4th in Cy Young voting.

Penny has been serviceable and Buchholz would be fine as the fifth starter.
If they are looking to upgrade, they might as well go harder after Halladay.

Cliff Lee don't scare me. Let them have him.

Beckett/Lee/Lester/Wakefield/Buchholz >>>>>>> Sabathia/Burnett/Pettitte/A Joba Chamberlain who is about to max out on innings for the year/Sergio Mitre(?)
Hell, even sub Penny for Buchholz in there if Buchholz would be traded for Lee and it's still a better rotation than what the Yankees have.

If Joba maxes out and goes to the pen there is nooooo way in hell they dont send hughes to scranton. Aceves has been good in the pen, him, mitre, and god fricking forbid wanger can pitch those 2 spots until hughes is ready.

I have absolutely 0 faith that Wang comes back this year. He's visiting with Dr. Andrews today, and my guess is some kind of surgery is on the horizon.
Just heard that the Mariners have informed the Yankees that Jarrod Washburn is on the block - do we trade for him? I say yes. He's better than Mitre, has more experience than Mitre, etc. We need a starter like Washburn to replace Joba when he goes to the pen.
CC/AJ/Andy/Washburn/Hughes(?) would be pretty sweet.

Did not know that. I had heard rumblings and that is who I was wanting us to go after. Why the frick not? Wonder what it would take. Surely not Montero or Ajax.

This guy has a point.
I read his shite sometimes and he usually has some interesting points. He is right about getting him for nothing last year though, I wanna say Seattle wanted Igawa. No, that isn't a typo.

If Washburn has too high of a price I say go for Duchersher or how the frick ever you spell it
. You can most likely get him for very little since he's rehabbing and his deal is up after this year. If you give up very little and he doesn't pan out...no biggie. If you give up a little and he helps, great. I think they may go for a reliever before a starter though. If they get a reliever you can pretty much bank on Hughes or Aceves to go down to stretch.

All pretty true points. But the fact is, he would make the rotation better.
Are we going to get a Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee? Chances are we aren't. But we DO need to go get another established starter. Is this a great team right now that could win the World Series? You bet. But Boston just keeps adding pieces, and thus, we should too.
Even an Ian Snell from Pittsburgh would be a decent addition in my opinion.
Also just read that Washburn could end up a Brewer. Seattle's new GM, of course worked for them. Plus, he's originally from Wisconsin.. so it might make sense.
