Dominant QB gets all the press attention and dominant defensive line makes him run for his life all game and shuts him down.

See:

2008 Brady v. Giants
2012 Brady v. Giants
2014 Manning v. Seahawks
2016 Newton v. Broncos
2020 Mahomes v. 49ers

Lesson: Pass Rushers are probably the second most important players on a football team

You forgot to mention the best example: Peyton Manning's Broncos vs. LOB Seahawks

It’s why the Redskins are insane if they pass on Young at 2. But it’s the Redskins soooo.....

How many of those SBs was Brady dominant in?

I would say when the refs call a good game and don't get caught up in offensive hoopla, then defenses can shine.

I'd say he was juuuuuust a bit better than OK against Seattle and Atlanta when it crunch time.

And even in the Eagles loss he was dominant. The never fricking punted.

Their D was Swiss cheese in that game.

quote:

XLIX: Patriots 28, Seahawks 24
• ?Brady went 37–for–50 with 328 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions

LI: Patriots 34, Falcons 28 (OT)
• ?Brady went 43–for–62 with 466 yards, two touchdowns and one interception

LII: Eagles 41, Patriots 33
• ?Brady went 28–for–48 with 505 yards and three touchdowns

Our D line is already fricking legit

Adding Young will make it scary

Yeah but they have Dwayne Haskins as their QB who isn't any good. Teams can win Super Bowls with very good game managers like Brad Johnson or Jimmy G. It's a whole nother thing to win a Super Bowl with a Blake Bortles/Mitch Trubisky level QB.

Brady completed 13 of 15 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns in fourth vs LOB. That not good enough?

you mean the ones were the defense shut other teams down and didnt let them score so eventually brady scored just enough to win?

ya those werent influenced at all by his dominant defense preventing the other team from scoring. it was all him lighting up the scoreboards with 14-17 points to barely win them

A rookie QB who played behind an atrocious OL whose best WR was a 4th round rookie. And Haskins showed improvement throughout the season.
Saying he can’t be a good game manager is insane at this point.
