no harm from the Bartman play earlier

Actually, Cal still had above average range when he moved. He got moved to 3rd as a power play by Davey Johnson to show the team who is boss.
Cal's range was sorely underrated because of his outstanding positioning. He got to tons of balls despite being slow. Jeter's sort of the opposite. He's got quick instincts, but terrible positioning. Mainly because he's so slow to his left he cheats so far to second base. Which he covers with his great arm.
...Bartman moment!
I can agree with all that

Now the only person in the world who wants to kill that guy is Bartman out of envy.

Bartman probably doesn't watch baseball or any sports programming anymore out of fear

I'm going for a while.
I feel this is the inning where it all falls apart and I don't want to end up banned.

Say what we will about Jeter's range, positioning, etc. He's been clutch at the plate tonight.

Fair enough. And I can certainly see that happening.

Probably true. Maybe not fear, but just awkwardness/brings back bad memories.
Think about how sad that is though that if the Bartman batter (can't remember who) just gets out after Bartman touches it, instead of a hit, his life is completely normal. Instead, it's messed up beyond belief. Crazy to think about.
