TigerHuskers,
I know you've been frustrated with your team this season, but what do you think is the real issue? Watching Indiana make significant progress in just two years and rise toward the top of college football, why hasn’t Nebraska, with its strong history, been able to reach that same level? I know they've invested heavily in facilities and have a passionate fan base, but I’d love to hear what do you think is holding the Huskers back? I'd love to see Nebraska return to the success it once had, it would be great for both the Big Ten and college football as a whole.

why hasn’t Nebraska,
Mike Riley-was 10 years past his sale by date.
Scott Frost-was more interested in alcohol and coeds than coaching.
Matt Rhule-decent coach, but not nearly as good as people make him out to be.

Line play on both sides, physicality and development. All 3 of those things have been almost nonexistent for 20+ years.
Jury is still out of Rhule but so far im not liking what im seeing.

Im giving him 2 more years before I give up on him. He talks a big game but so far the on field results have been mediocre at best. He cant beat aby teams tbat have a pulse and ranked teams destroy us. Next year will be telling with a much tougher schedule.

How’s the NIL at Nebraska?
Posted on 1/2/26 at 12:19 pm to TigersHuskers
O line and D line play absolutely killed us this year. Every game the same 3 fricken plays gashed our defense and stopping a running QB was impossible. And the O line combined with Raiolas ability to stand there like a statue was a sack machine.

Rhule got a nice bump in money this year for the NIL but overall id put it in the top 15-20 in the country (I dont know the numbers off my head) But again if you aren't developing whats the point? Iowa kills us every year with lesser recruits because they develop.

Indiana/Cignetti are going to unfairly shift expectations for every major conference program hiring a new coach going forward. What they’ve done only would have been possible in the current portal/NIL era, but it’s still going to be an extreme outlier as far as success

Indiana is a unicorn.

So, are you saying that Indiana won’t be able to sustain this success?
Posted on 1/2/26 at 12:56 pm to Muahahaha
I have no idea if they can sustain the success, I do know that no school should expect to be able to replicate what they have done

This is completely irrelevant to what’s going on these days and honestly, it’s a talking point that needs to die. History means absolutely nothing anymore, it’s all about who has the big bank rolls

Said nothing of the sort. Asking why programs can't be the same "level" is a fools errand. What Indiana is doing, is entirely unprecedented.

Alot of things have changed since the Osborne days... let's be honest you guys used every loophole to your advantage as far as recruiting goes before the prop rules and caps on walk ins were implemented. You guys also were leaders in the strength and conditioning game, now everyone is pretty much on an even playing field.
