Intestine just twisted. No impactions so no cutting at all(aside from initial cut), they just placed it back where it should be. Got super lucky on that one.

As long as his incision heals and there is no infection from them being in there I actually see nothing wrong with him running again in a few months.

I don't either, but I don't want to see a 50% Wise Dan going out on the track. Let him get fit and be ready. I'm sure they will. Lopresti isn't going to mistreat the horse, and I didn't intend for my last post to come across that way.

If you look at the preakness and the pace, there is an abundance of speed, they will go faster than derby, and only 1 closer.

you have a couple of horses who will be right off the lead and 2 stalkers, but only 1 horse who will be running in last 1/8th.

An improving horse, but will he bounce? And will pinmental keep the horse too far back?

Lots of rain at Pimlico today? Will the track still be sloppy tomorrow?

I was going to say to take Wesley Ward in that 2 year old sprint, but then I saw he was saddling 4 of the 8, I figured that wouldn't help much.

Before I get really into this, let me say that California Chrome may get beat tomorrow. So, some people would ask why you are even looking at this? As the article I posted earlier, Chrome has won more Graded Stakes in a row than the other 9 combined. Another issue with this is that don't you think the trainers see this as well? Do you think they are all going to send out and burn their horse up by the half? Your entire post here is trying to convince yourself that a long shot is going to win and he may, but trying to convince yourself that anyone in this race beats Chrome at 100% is pretty silly.

ETA:What I'm trying to say in a nutshell is class out does "running style" 99 times out of 100. Chrome is proven, most others are not. You can't throw a $3500 claimer in the Preakness and claim he has a shot because he closed in a few races.

ETA2:If you are talking about Ride On Curlin, he wasn't going to get near the winner last out and his rider got yanked because his trainer said he's not a dead closer.

If your horse can only go to the lead, and you hold him back, because of other speed, your trainer needs to be fired, immediately.

Speed horses don't close, they might rate right off pace, but they will be gassed at 3/16th.

Your horse is speed, you have him show it. You dont try a failed rating tactic. U go to the lead. It's what he does.

U win or lose having your horse do what he does.

Unlike in Derby, because of traffic issues, there will be 5 horses within a length or 2, and a couple right behind them. If one clears, then your jockey failed you as an owner and trainer.

ride on curlin isn't a closer, he's a stalker. He's far of the lead he has no shot.

the ONLY closer is Kid Cruz, and we still have no clue how good he is. Improving, but where is he, this race should tell.

Derby should have had a hot pace too.
