Man I am so enjoying this feature on this app. Currently viewing Super Bowl XXII Elway's Broncos vs Doug William's Redskins.
Later on around 5:30p Super Bowl XXIII Boomer Esiason's Bengals vs Joe Montana's 49ers. What a great game that was. Rainy day & evening so guess I'll enjoy both. Lol

Don’t want to spoil it, but Elway comes out on fire.

He was on fire while Williams was not. Boy did it flip in the second quarter. Williams caught fire. Just said in the 3rd quarter Elway is 5 of his last 24 with completions. 3 Ints to. Williams would go on to win the MVP for the game. His career fell off the map after this.

For you youngin’s on this board, one of the best SB’s ever. From opening kickoff to last minute. Fond memories, won the beer bitch bet on the coin flip.

My old man cleaned up booking bets during the Raiders/Skins SB. Told degenerates that LA was way too fast for Washington.

His career wasn’t on the map before. Modern media try to pump him up because of the obvious but overall Doug Williams was a terrible QB. He had one incredible great game at the perfect time but overall he is among the bottom 5 worst QBs to ever start a Super Bowl.

Had one earlier, Super Bowl X. Steelers are up 21-17 with a min left in game but due to bad special teams they go for it on 4th and 9 at midfield. They miss it. But defense holds on. Can’t imagine that scenario today.

Was actually at that game, my one and only SB (there on a quirk; wild story...maybe another time)

Yes....bizarre 4th down. As you noted, made zero sense -- esp back then. (Just before that series the Steelers' D uncharacteristically gave up an easy "gimme" TD to the 'Boys to make the score way too close as it was.)

That’s a cool story. Bill Belichek talked recently about how the long snapper position has evolved. You can see it with the old games and how much punts were being blocked
