picking the "most deserving" team leads to blowouts when teams prove they don't belong in... this is why it should be the four best.

No. What leads to blowouts is the month long layoff between a teams final game and the playoff.

This has always been an issue with bowls and it's not going to change until the playoff starts closer to the end of the regular season.

Depends. All things being equal otherwise, it's one way to differentiate the two.

So is which teams mascot you like better.

No. There is more that separates a team like Alabama from a team like TCU than their mascots.

"All conference champs" is one of the lowest IQ arguments there could be

Any difficult ooc would stop immediately. No incentive to risk injury

Goodbye Bama fsu
Goodbye UGA Notre dame
Goodbye Ohio state Oklahoma

Top 6 conference champs determined by computers
Seed the teams by computers
First Round: 6 at 3’s stadium, 5 at 4’s stadium
Second Round: Worst Seed at 1’s stadium, Other Winner at 2’s stadium
Championship at Neutral Site

So respects the conference’s determination of champion. Every team basically has a chance by winning their conference and putting together a solid OOC schedule. SOS can yield a bye and home game for playoff teams. Absolute minimal subjective bs. The committee and polls are eliminated.
