I keep reading those in favor of Cal.

Respectfully disagree. Sure Pitino allowed some naughty things to go on but as it related to winning in Basketball that man is a legend. What I don’t get is he is going through his “rehabilitation” at Iona and St John’s.

Just go get the man and we will be in the tournament every year.

He's a tremendous coach but he's far too old IMO. We need to find a winning coach that will stick around for a while.

I'd rather a young coach than a coach knocking on the door of retirement.

If he were five years younger I’d agree. He’ll be 72 before next season tips off.

For what? 3, 4 years? He's going to be 72 soon. There is no question he can coach. But you're going to have to be looking for a new HC pretty soon regardless of how well he performs.

Pitino didn't "allow" anything to go on

Alongside Iba, Newell, Knight, Dean Smith, and Tark, you will not find a better and more innovative X's and O's college coach IN HISTORY than Pitino, it's impossible. Everyone else should just go home.
