I really don't know who to pick this week.
Stricker is the obvious pick being the highest ranked player who is playing the best at this time, and the event being in his home state; but he just disappears when majors come around.
McIlroy is another good pick. This course is going to play links style with the high winds and over 1200 bunkers. I think he's ready to win a major too.
Mickelson is an awful pick this week because of the course and the way he's playing.
Tiger's head is somewhere else, although, he finally had a press conference the other day where he seemed to accept the fact that he's mentally not into it right now, which I thought was a positive. But, I don't see how anyone can seriously pick Tiger this week.
Having said all of that, I'm going with a sleeper. Matt Kuchar...he's playing pretty well right now, and he's had a really consistent year.

and to respond to your post, I would love to see Stricker break through. He has the type of game to win a major, I am surprised he has not been on the doorstep more often.

It will take a long hitter to win this week. IMHO that takes Stricker out of it - As well as Tiger. I kind of like the Barnes pick.

I disagree to an extent, this is always the mantra leading up to major championships but never seems to pan out for the most part. Although, because it rained heavily the course will be softer which brings the long hitters more into focus.
On another note, Shank finally went and did some work on video today - and studied the D plane a good bit. Holy hell, you need a math degree to understand a golf lesson these days
ETA: at one point I was pretty sure I was going to need to multiply something by pie and then divide by zero

This week is different. That course is playing close to 7700 yards. A bomber will win this week. IMHO

I have been Googling the hell out of it ever since
It all makes sense to me though, it is a variation of what I have always understood about the golf swing in terms of club face - path - ball direction. what threw me for a loop was that the D plane intersects gravity into the formula. I was like, "well frick now I need to calculate gravity too!?"

I will gladly gIve you two a side the next time we play on the moon. The no gravity thing will surely take you at least 17 holes to figure it out.

Nah . A couple of weeks away...
I just have not talked to many people that are playing .. Not too sure what kind of field it will be .. But I support them bringing it back and feel like I SHOULD play . .
So I am probably going to mail it in tomorrow.
You need to play !!!

Shank will probably be buried in the field somewhere, looking up to guys like you and Christovich with a dream.
I mean, lets not kid ourselves, I am lucky my handicap qualified for the tournament in the first place
