PFF brought you our All-Decade Team earlier in the offseason, but what’s the point in grading every player on every play of the decade if we don’t go any deeper? As we do each season, we’re going to extend our evaluation to the PFF Top 101, this time bringing you the 101 best players from the entire decade of NFL play.

Like all other PFF Top 101s, this list isn’t an evaluation of talent, but rather of production, efficiency and performance over a specific time period — in this case, the entire decade. Because the time period is far larger this time, we should get far closer to evaluating talent by proxy than in a list that focuses just on a single season, but it’s still a distinction worth thinking about.

This list includes the playoffs, so players with legendary postseason runs will see their stock rise compared to those who have faltered or never made it past the regular season.

1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Donald
3. Drew Brees
4. Richard Sherman
5. Rob Gronkowski
6. Aaron Rodgers
7. Von Miller
8. Julio Jones
9. JJ Watt
10. Luke Kuechly

Rest of the list

Benefited from playing Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor in that system. Great cast in SF too. He’s on the list but not top 5.

Donald, Brees, and Sherman are too high. Rodgers, Watt, and Julio are too low.

Brady is top 5 but not number 1.

He’s played more games than Donald so wherever Donald is, he’s above him.

And I’d honestly probably put Rodgers or Gronk at 1. But the fact that Earl Thomas and Marshal Yanda aren’t in their top 10 tells me this is another clickbait article.

How can Sherman be 4 but Patrick Peterson not be in the top 50.

People are underestimating how dominant Aaron Donald has been.

It’s based off of their ratings. Clickbait articles are more like intentionally presenting something in a way to piss people off or get attention. This isn’t intentionally doing that because these grades (even if you don’t agree with them) have been years in the making.

should be tiers instead of straight rankings. only God can tell the difference in a lot of those players.

I’ve always thought these top 100 lists are dumb. Too many players and (for football) too many different positions. Not sure how you can realistically compare a DB and OL when they do completely different things.
