PFF: A look into Denver's dominant defensive performance against Green Bay...

Aaron Rodgers, for his career, averages 258 yards per game, and more than two touchdowns per start. The Denver Broncos limited him to just 77 yards on 14 completions, and held him without a score. Six of those completions were behind the line of scrimmage.
Rodgers is a quarterback at the height of his powers, playing at a level that should scare any defense in the league. He is an All-Pro with immense talent and control of his offense, and he was completely dominated by a defense that attacked him from every level. This was one of the greatest defensive displays you are ever likely to see, precisely because of the opposition they took apart. This defense is a lot better than I gave it credit for coming into this game, and I thought the performance against the Packers was unreal. The Denver defense is playing in rarified air right now, and it’s incredible to watch.

From a historical prespective, how good do you think this defense is now and how good do you think it could be by the end of the year? Speed everywhere, lock-down corners in Aquib Talib and Chris Harris Jr, pass rushers like Von Miller, Demarcus Ware, Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett, Pro-Bowl safety like TJ Ward, and vastly underrated players like Danny Trevathan, Brandon Marshall and Malik Jackson. The stats speak for themselves in terms of interceptions, YPG allowed, sacks, pressures, forced fumbles, and so forth. This is definitely the best Denver defense since the Orange Crush, but how good do they end up?

They have two of the best CB's in the game and two of the best pass rushers in the game. I'm not sure how good their run defense is, but they're an absolute nightmare for pass centric teams. I can't wait to see them play New England.

New England will definitely be the toughest opponent of the season from a match-up standpoint.
They can neutralize our pass rush with short passes (that's their thing), and we don't have an answer for Rob Gronk. Covering the tight end has been Denver's problem for as long as I can remember...

Denvers defense could be better than Seahawks super now defense imo. What they did to Aaron Rodgers the other night was one of the most impressive defenses performances I've ever seen.

Chris Harris Jr
Hindsight is always 20/15, but it's kinda amazing to look now and see that he went undrafted
