The only incident that JoePa had reported to him was the shower incident in which Sandusky showered with a 12 year old boy. I don't know how much more Joe knew (and that's really a question to be asked I think.) Most are calling for full disclosure on that by the university.

In that last game that Sandusky coached we shut out Texas A&M in the Alamo Bowl 21-0 and the defensive players carried Sandusky off the field. Now thinking back I wonder how much people actually knew about this then.

you really believe a witness came to him and said "hey I saw one of your coaches doing something inappropriate" and Paterno never asked for any particulars and just reported something happened?

in the grand jury report he called a meeting with his higher ups the next day to inform them of what the grad assistant witnessed.

No one is disputing this. Are you saying it's his only responsibility? Is this how you would handle the situation?

Both. And each time it was witnessed firsthand by other people. One a grad assistant, and the other a janitor.

Yet Joe Pa is to blame that this never came to light until now

who has more sway to get something done: joepa or a graduate assistant?

Your the one who has been defending the continual coverup of a pedophile. So enjoy that

And yes I will always disagree with anyone who thinks raping a kid in the mouth and anus is JUST AS BAD as telling your administrative superiors about the allegations when you find them out. It's THEIR job to investigate allegations, not the head football coach.

I believe most are at fault.

however there are different levels.

Joe Pa would be in the last tier, whatever that one would be.

He's only being brought to the forefront because of who he is.

so you have a man accused of showering with a little boy in YOUR lockerroom and you let the piece of shite maintain an office there and continue to use your facilities?

you think the police would take Joe Pa anymore seriously than a grad assistant if they were notified of someone molesting a child?

According to Paterno the only incident he knew about happened after Sandusky was retired.

They took his keys away to the facility.

I don't think the cover up is worse then pedophilia, and no where did I ever say that. But its definitely bad enough that everyone involved should lose there jobs, and possibly face criminal charges.

No it's not. It's the job of the legal authorities who can make an arrest, and get a conviction in the case. It's not the job of the school administration.

Are you suggesting JoPa should not have done anything differently?

Ah thanks that makes more sense. I keep hearing different things from different people. I think the timeline is throwing me off as well.

i only know the specifics of that situation, and regarding that situation, i think he handled it correctly.

The whole 'cover up' thing that went on after that, who knows.

The State of Louisiana went to the Supreme Court so they could be allowed to put child molesters to death (they lost)...and at Penn State all you lose are your keys to the athletic facility.

Seriously? So any allegation that comes to them should automatically be forwarded to the cops first? If a student goes to his professor and tells him she saw JoePa raping a giraffe at the zoo the professor should immediately call the police to have JoePa arrested for beastiality? Or should they maybe do a little digging before dragging someone's name through the mud?

is this a joke? If a GA calls the police, he talks to a secretary or rookie cop. If JoePa calls he talks to the Chief. FTR, they both should have called the cops.
