f LSU were to ever be faced with such a situation I would expect them to act appropriately with their priorities in order.

You can expect all you want and there would still be fans acting just like these other morons are doing and probably worse in some ways.

I can see the cancelling the rest of this season.

Nah. They need to continue the season. Let's put this into perspective, it's not just the football team, athletic dept involved, its the whole university. Sandusky hasn't been on staff for a long long time and unless current staff was involved in his acts, or his ring, then cancelling football is way too much.

I disagree. And I know it would be unfair to the kids. But PSU has to immediately try to save it's reputation or it will NEVER recover. We're talking about people, who it looks like are going to let McQueary fricking coach saturday, who if it wasn't for the building storm probably would have let Joe Pa finish the season.

These people need to shut the fricking football team down to try and save the University a shred of compasion and sense of priority. If they don't have their reputation after the lawsuits are over, they won't BE a university for long. This shite is that bad.

I doubt LSU students would act like the PSU students.

You're right, it would probably be worse. Have you ever visited TigerDroppings World Famous Tiger Rant? It isn't exactly the mecca of rational thought.

their reputation is shot right now, but if they focus on their academics for a bit, and they don't have to shut down the football program to do it, they'll regain a little normalcy. just let time pass.

Frankly I think the PSU students will do this when they realize the gravity of the situation

To bring LSU into this is dumb, its all hypothetical, and all we know is that the PSU students DID react this way, and it was irrational. Stop trying to accuse the LSU fan base of something that you have no grounds to accuse them of.

In case you haven't realized this it's an LSU message board. LSU fans mostly post here and some are throwing out wild shite when they know our fans would act the same fricking way.

No shite it was irrational sherlock. Rational people dont act like that. And plenty of people are throwing around hypothetical.

What makes you think most of the people on the Rant are LSU students?

Rioting is not part of LSU's culture.

LSU message board, but the situation does not involve LSU. Do we have to be that narrow minded that everything talked about has to involve LSU in the conversation?

NOTHING this big has EVER happened here at LSU. I understand it's hypothetical, but you must not tailgate if you really believe people here wouldn't lose their damn minds.

The program should be killed for at least 10 years. Is there a bigger example of lack of institutional control? We are not talking about strippers for players but the sexual assault of young boys. Joe pa should be removed from the record books and the ncaa hall of fame.

If they do not get the death penalty the ncaa should be dissolved.

I understand this is an emotionally charged issue and people want blood, but the deserving heads have started to roll. Killing the whole program fixes nothing, no matter how well-intentioned that act might be. They could shut it down for 30 yrs and bring it back as a D-III program a la UChicago and it wouldn't erase or make up for any of the atrocities those kids endured.

Unless the NCAA finds something in their bylaws, they have no jurisdiction over this.
