The ACC has a good rankikng because they lack many poor teams. Really only NC St. is bad, and CLemson is the only other team in the conference with a losing record. They do not have any elite teams though.

I am just saying using objecitve data that the Big-10 is rated pretty high. They have 2 really good teams and many, many above average/good teams. The SEC has 3 really good teams, but less overall above average teams/good teams

But it's ok b/c Penn State beefed up the SOS with some great out of conference wins against: Coastal Carolina, Temple, and Syracuse

You do realize there are only three really good teams in the SEC this year right? For this year at least, we have no room to say anything. And as far as LSU specifically, we're the last fans that should say anything about another team's OOC schedule.

I just provided the OOC for Texas and LSU both. Not much difference in quality compared to PSU if you ask me.

OSU is not a really good team. I would equate LSU with OSU right now. Both are pretty good teams.

We generally don't need to worry about that much... but Auburn and Arkansas and even Miss. State are all way down from last season.

The last 4-5 years or more, the SEC schedule alone has been more than enough. Just not the case this season.

UGA or UF would beat them just as bad... LSU vs. OSU would be about even.

LSU is going to have fits vs any spread offense they face this season. When UGA spread us out, we couldn't stop shite.

Maybe one team is marginally better than the other but it's nowhere near as cut and dry as you make it seem. Labeling OSU as a "really good team" right now is a fricking joke.

I figure they are probably one of the 10-15 best teams in the nation. I guess it depends on where the cut-off for really good teams is.

OSU has no offensive line and slow recievers, offsetting the fact that LSU has no pass rush and bad corners (Other than Peterson)...It would probably be a pretty good game

My point exactly. And the Big 10 being down in the past two years is irrelevant to what Penn St is doing this year. People are naive if they think voters are going to judge PSU by OSU's performance in the BCS title game the last two years. Conferences have up and down years. Take three years ago for example...I don't think anyone in the SEC could have beaten 2005 OSU...and they didn't even win the Big 10.

I agree, but why take a chance? Bottom line, if we did happen to be in the BCS mix this year, we'd be totally hosed due to the combo of one of the worst OOC schedules in the country and our own conference having a down year.

If we're gonna consider OSU "really" good, we'd have to consider LSU "really" good.

OSU is just good, not really good. Really good teams don't get held w/o an offensive TD in 3 games... just like really good teams don't yield 50+ twice.

Everyone else is caught up in the beauty contest that is college football. Oklahoma's performance in BCS bowl games the past two seasons should stand out in everyone's minds. Anything can happen at anytime.

I've watched just about every PSU game this season, and IMHO, they're playing the best football right now. Texas is winning, yes, but I don't think they've met a defense quite like PSU's yet.

Alabama... I'm not quite sold on them as being the best just yet. Their win against UGA was the only impressive win thus far, and that's not saying much. They let UGA get back in it. You take away a few plays in that game that weren't favorable towards UGA, you have a whole different ball game.
