Oregon recruited kids that had offers on both sides of the ball and project at multiple spots. Helfrich highlighted it on NSD. Carlberg was top 30 at both DT/OL, Merritt could be an elite safety, and he said he'd use the word versatile 40+ times to describe the class. He mentioned at the dinner that they'd come in and participate in drills on both sides of the ball. It was a response to a poster saying the mentality needs to change.

You don't load your class up with ATH's with the potential of playing on either side of the ball.
Bringing a few each class is good, but you should focus on getting guys who play D. Thats the point.

We are always going to have problems getting in the top 10 in recruiting. I believe the way we are going about it is best for Oregon. We're not going to put out the 85 bears but we got to get depth with our limitations. Oregon does a great job of maximizing each players ability to contribute.
