That makes sense. The benefits of the word of mouth of being an organization who helps a player develop and move on probably worth more than a handful or two of spaces higher in the draft.

Could pay off down the road in finding a diamond in the rough or two. I remember in the prime Brees years the saints would often win the UDFA battles post draft for signatures due to their history of developing some of those guys.

Cowboys needed a backup since Cooper Rush signed with the Ravens so I get it. Let's cool our jets acting like Milton is the second coming of Lamar Jackson though. He has started, well practically started, one game in the NFL and that was against a Bills backup team that had nothing to play for in the last week of the regular season. Let's also remember the Patriots have a long history of playing up their backup quarterback being something better than he actually is (see Jimmy Garafalo, Ryan Mallet, and Matt Cassel) in order to fleece other teams in trades.

Wasn’t aware my jets were firing I just think that for a later round pick a guy with his measurables would be very intriguing to have on a roster at next to nothing salary wise. If nothing else a 6’5 250 lbs guy running a 4.5 could have a few interesting goal line packages.
