Which is completely stupid. They are going to hate that when they get 40 or so. An SEC championship is a huge accomplishment. I don't know why Miles would try to devalue their ring like that.

I agree with this. I get he wanted to use it as motivation. Putting the Alabama script A on your training shirts like he did a couple of years ago was a good example of how to do it. Putting #2 on a ring those players are going to treasure for life is more of a slap in the face to them, IMO.
