I believe based on everything I’ve seen in this thread that that ball would have bounced off Kobe’s face and back toward that ref. Or maybe toward the bench.

I’ll revisit the topic when we get a third camera angle from the top of the key in a few years

Dude

Look at the video

Kobe is standing 1.5 feet from the baseline

Barns hands do not extend over the line

The camera is from behind Kobe. His hands are not nearly as close as you are implying

Look at where Kobe’s feet are, look at Barnes feet and his arms not fully extended at all.
The camera is from behind kobe

If Kobe is standing “1.5 feet” from the baseline and you’re saying Barns hands do not extend over the line then how do you explain this photo?

I explain once again you don’t have a photo actually looking down the baseline......
Any photo from behind either player will make them appear closer. You disagree?

Idk what is going on here, nor do I recall this incident or subsequent discussions, but based on the HD video above, that ball plants into Kobe's face if it's released at the worst/best possible moment.

Remember the overhead picture is still at an angle. Look at Kobe's feet. Look at Barnes's feet. Look at the lines on the court. That ball is going over the top of Kobe's right foot.

You post the above and then back it up with a photo with the ball 1” from Kobe’s face like it is proving your point.

That ball was going to hit Kobe in the face. This girl is about to touch the top of the Eiffel Tower.

always thought it looked like Kobe was off to the side and Matt Barnes didn't fake it at Kobe.

Same. But breathe one word of that possibility and the kobe cabal howled

, I don't mind if people think it's impressive that he didn't flinch, but the idea it was headed for his face is a farce.

When pride, slackster, and tbird agree on something, you look a little foolish arguing against them

But it is pretty clear what it changes. The ball is pumped to the side of kobes head towards a cutting player, not at his face

What video are you watching??

I swear the people arguing this are blind
