Josh Freeman was elite prior to last year according to this board..... Matt Ryan is good, Vick is not.... Fitzpatrick was less than 200 yards from being good as well

Or because it is the system he is designed in, they had enough faith in him to let him have the ball to come from behind so obviously the team wasn't "scared" of him.... This perception is mind boggling, I shall chalk it up to the hate

the perception is shared by many 49ers fans.

They obviously had a desire to change their system by their actions this offseason

Sproles is great in the Saints system obviously by the numbers he put up last year but not a traditional RB either

Vick only played in 13 games and had a bad year.

Fitz did not have a good year, you must have only watched the first few weeks of the season

that wasn't the question.

He set the record for most yards by a player in a season. I guess if he's not "traditional" he can't be elite?

Well in the NFL usually if you are behind you start to throw. Doesn't necessarily mean they wanted him to. He threw out of necessity. Of course it is part of the system he is in that he doesn't l throw a lot, but if the niners had lets say, peyton manning do you think they would throw more? Or even someone like Philip rivers.

So he can be terrible his whole career, have an average season, and become close to good

and Sproles has done it more than just 1 year cuz

According to the arbitrary number you put up there had he thrown for 4k yards (which he came close to) then yes

you've said Alex Smith became good a few times in this thread.

Taking shots at my intelligence isn't helping your argument.

they added plenty of WR's. Don't know how much that will help Alex Smith though. His O-line isn't that great in pass protection.

they added plenty of RB's. Frank Gore has been doing it alone to long by himself. You gotta wonder how many good years he has left.
