One secondary violation reported by OSU involved Kirk Barton creating "JT" bracelets for $5 each online to honor former coach Jim Tressel.

quote:

Barton sold the bracelets for $15, knowing that giving them out for free to players would be an NCAA violation.

quote:

Selling the "JT" bracelets to players was deemed a violation bc players had access to something not available to the general public.

Don't players have access to tons of shite not available to the general public?

Another secondary violation committed by Ohio State was Urban Meyer telling Noah Spence "good luck" on day of his state title game.

This is the best though

Apparently it was a secondary violation for Mike Vrabel to chew tobacco on the sidelines during games. Who knew.

I saw this last night.

Gene Smith has got to go. The only real "violation" is the video he made for a recruit. What a stupid frick he is.

That's pretty dumb. Not the act, but that the act is a violation. I mean, I guess if you know the rules, it's dumb to break them, but the rule is stupid.

I think you are thinking of Gordon Gee taking Larinitis out to dinner along with several other OSU students. Gee picked up the tab for all of the students including James, but since he plays football its a NCAA violation and he had to pay back what his meal cost (like $20 or something). This happened a while back.
