We aren't going to be surprised by anyone's physicality. I hope that narrative rears its ugly head in the run up to this game.

Huh?

0-3, but I'm confused why this matters.

He's probably confused why the 2009 Oregon OSU game matter.

The difference with Oregon to me is the freshman running back. He is legit.

Because those two teams are playing each other and they have a recent history?

It has very little bearing, but it's part of a larger pattern.

The OL for Oregon is vastly improved. It is bigger more athletic and physical.

Cool.

Sad to hear about Allen and Ekpre-Olomu. Especially Allen. First play of the damn game.

What type of quilt and or patter are you weaving with 6 year old dialogue?

That 2009 has not one player on the roster that played in that game. It's a stretch.

The only connection I could think of was maybe Luke Fickel but he would have been a position coach.

Lets not discount, you can try, the stability at Oregon

This is a good point.

Oregon has some great continuity going all the way back to Rich Brooks, the last head coach Oregon hired from without. Every coach since Brooks (hired way back in 1977) has been promoted from OC to Head Coach.

The Ducks have come a long, long way since 1977. Obviously Phil Knight and Nike play a huge role. But they are rare in the relative stability the program has had for decades at the head coach position.

They've found their niche and stuck with it. I'm a fan of their in state rival but I have tremendous respect for what they've accomplished.

I really like Mark Helfrich. He seems like a genuinely good guy.

Chip was adamant that Helfrich was the guy to lead this team. Stayed another year to make sure it happened.

Are you talking about Thomas Tyner?

He's a sophomore but the dude is definitely a beast.

Quite possibly the best running back to ever come out of the state of Oregon.

quote:

Aloha High School running back Thomas Tyner ran for 644 yards to set an Oregon state record on Friday night.

Nationally, Tyner's feat is the all-time third-highest single game rushing total, according to the National High School Sports Record Book.

Tyner, an Oregon recruit, carried the ball 38 times and scored 10 touchdowns in Aloha's 84-63 win over Lakeridge, and he did it all on his 18th birthday.

I think he is talking about Freeman, our leading rusher.
