Oregon is making South Carolina look like an offensive Juggernaut!

Neutral zone infraction. Dude sure looked behind that blue line to me.
Link to you thinking the pass interference was a horrible call? Did the CB touch the receiver's arm before the ball got there? Yes.

yeah they need to run different plays and possibly switch QBs
masoli can't complete a pass, and he's not fast enough to run an option-based spread option

because the WR engaged him and nearly pushed off
the ball was thrown out of bounds anyway. uncatchable ball = no PI

And some sportswriters (those geniuses at SI) were saying that Masoli is a Heisman candidate.

1:50 sure looked spread option to me.
Methinks you have a warped definition of spread option.
1 zone/read play does not make a team have a spread option offense. I'm pretty sure that's in most team's playbooks.

This was the game that the national pundits were really talking up going into this week. So far, it isn't any better than the South Carolina v. NC State game. Pretty ugly so far.

dude
if you run zone-read, that's a spread option play
the majority of UTs offense was out of the gun, based around the zone-read
that is THE definition of the spread option

when it's the basis of your offense, yes, it does

I know.
But the neutral zone infraction was bullshite. They didn't even blow it dead to begin with. It should've been let to stand on that premise alone.
2 bad calls cancelled each other out and the score stands. AS a matter of fact, Oregon is lucky this game is still within reach of victory. They should be down 20 at the lowest.

bad calls are part of the game, unfortunately so is getting out-coached, out-manned, and out-matched.

Gene Menez's stupidity
This 5-11, 214-pound fire hydrant of a quarterback plows over helpless defenders and already runs the spread option offense as well as Dennis Dixon ever did. Masoli has a chance to make a big, immediate impression on voters in Week 1 when he faces a tough Broncos team on the blue turf in Boise.

I'll concede. Just a typical spread option involves a lot more movement than just the one zone read.
I will agree that team was a thing of beauty to watch. THing is, if you don't change your offense to match your players (like oregon apparently hasn't) then you get fricked when you lose a guy like VY.
Posted on 9/3/09 at 10:49 pm to TheeGamecock
there were only a few people who correctly evaluated this game, thats obvious
Posted on 9/3/09 at 10:50 pm to Moustache
I'll say this. Right now Boise looks to have better athletes, although I know that isn't the case. That speaks volumes for how good a coach Petersen is. I hope this dude gets his chance at a major BCS program.

anybody got a second half line on this with a total?

they ran SO all last year and switched QBs...masoli came on late as the hot one
he's sucking dickhole now
he's not some unproven guy. he's just shitting the bed this game. can't hit the broad side of a barn
