I dunno who Tanner Adams is, but baw better be sone sort of combo of Gretzky, Lemieux, and Howe.

While 17 picks is pretty wild, it’s not unusual to trade like 6 or 7 picks for players in the OHL/CHL.
Since they are a developmental league of teenagers… when a team thinks they have a shot at a title run… they go all in on it and try to form a super team. The picks don’t have a lot of value when the players won’t be on your team very long anyhow.
