Freeze probably wants all of this to go away right now. I don't know what it changes in the NCAA case. I think it could help because Ole Miss won't be defending Freeze to the NCAA.

The NCAA wanted Freeze just as much as it did Ole Miss. Ole Miss isn't fighting for Freeze and the NCAA now can hit Freeze without a fight now. It can't hurt Ole Miss right now against the NCAA now that the former head coach isn't there.

I'm guessing when they filed that lawsuit that they requested Freeze's phone records to show evidence that he made calls for extra-benefits (shooting down that it all happened under Nutt) and Nutt saw a familiar number.
