Using that logic, BYU should still be in at 11-2

A team like Bama had two options to not have this loss hurt them:

1) don’t get blown out in the SEC CG

2) don’t have one of the worst losses in all of college football to a team that is 5-7 and lose by 14 points.

The reality is that the SEC CG should have been seen as an opportunity for Bama to make up for that loss. They did the opposite, thus should not be in.

SMU lost by 3 in the ACC championship last year, not 21. They had one loss going into that game by 3 and not 2 losses with one by two TDs.

As of right now, Bama has two ranked wins. That is not special or automatically putting them in their playoffs.

Except that BYU wasn’t in the field before their game. It’s not the top 12 ranked teams. Tulane, JMU, Big 12 and the ACC championship game were deciding spots 11 and 12. Notre Dame was the final auto qualifier at #10.

Look, this whole process is dumb. The committee is dumb. And we’re all borderline dumb for even caring at this point.

This is just something you’ve cooked up in your head.

I agree. If it doesn't cut both ways, you have to take it out of the equation.
