I can't believe no one went low. I played out there yesterday and it wasn't playing difficult at all. Pin positions they had marked for the weekend weren't overly challenging either.

Many people enjoy playing slow pitch softball because it's fun for them, and now that their playing days are over they can still play the game of baseball/softball. What if these guys were facing the same factors as pro baseball? 95 mph fastballs, unhittable curveballs, and split-fingers.

That's a really bad analogy. Strict rules do not impede the bad golfer from playing the game at all. It only increases his score. What's the harm of a higher score? Low self esteem?

I can cheat my arse off. I have a friend who is 10 times worse. He can be in the woods while I am on the green. You hear him hit a tree. TWICE. Spends 10 minutes in there. When he finally knocks it over the green and chips up, he stands over his putt, misses, and says "that was for bogey."

Stuff changes when the ropes go up! Plus, little things make a big deifference out there like growing the rough, cutting the greens down, etc.

Mulligans, gimmes, two off the first tee, bumping it everywhere, that doesn't bother me as long as everyone does it. What does get my goat is cheating in charitable trnys when there's nothing to win but a trophy. Played in one a few months ago we shoot 10 under, 4 man scramble. Knowing there aren't any prizes I leave after we finish. Later the next week one of my partners tells me we win some gift certificates and what not. I say how is this so, he tells me our 12 under did it. Couldn't believe the guy who kept our score fudged and he was the one who sponsored us. WTF.

Isn't that some shite. By the way played yesterday at Grey in L.C. in a chamber trny., shot 56, won first place. That course is in excellent condition. If you are in the area try it out if you can stand the heat.

if theres money or pride on the line then i play completely straight up. but if im just playing around with a couple buddies or my family then i dont putt out a foot putt anymore im not play highschool ball anymore.

If my ball is on the rocks and stuff on gonna move it to a spot where i can get a shot.. i get no benefit out of hitting off rocks and roots and hurting myself and or my clubs.

but if there is anything on the line then tebow plays straight up

Haven't played there in a while. Was set up pretty rough when I played it. You had to walk right on top of your ball in the rough to find it. But a lot of fun. I think I was 1 under thru amen corner, from the tips. The rest wasn't nearly as pretty.

If you are playing money golf, you need to ask your partners what you should do. I hate people who just bump a ball because a rock or such.

Never played it but I have a bet with some people. +1 on Amen corner plus 17 Sawgrass. Its pretty big so my nerves may get to me. At least it isnt bent grass.

We play a money game every wed. Skins, two man nassau, two down auto. There's 3 good golfers, 5-10 handys, and a couple of 10-20 handys. We give the highers some shots to play one on one. Started by bumping everywhere, we always give gimmes, speeds up play. Now we are playing it down, but sometimes don't depends on the shape of the course. When we bumped we had a rule if you were in the rough though. Improve your lie not your line.

Played the whole course from the tips, probably shot a 90. Knocked it in the water on 9, its the 17th at Sawgrass. And had some other dilemmas too. I think my only birdie was the replica of 12 at Augusta. Hit 7 iron.

Well I know that...

But the rough wasn't magically growing 2 inches from 6pm Friday to 8am Saturday.

Greens were running very well.

Fine, but you need to take a penalty. That won't hurt your clubs.

You would be amazed at how many rules you really may not know...I've worked tournaments for years and still see instances where we end up having to call the USGA...

...point is, you may think your playing by the rules and not cheating, but to play by the rules without "cheating" consecutively is HAF

There is not 1 player that knows all the rules. Thats why rules officials carry their bible with them.
