Funny enough 2014 National Champions Ohio State is provably closest with a loss at home to a Va Tech team that finished 7-6
that same Va Tech team to hold this honor…

Just shows that they spent the last part of the year out of the top 5. Because they had 2 losses and lost to an unranked team.
