Basketball loses another one this time at home to Wisconsin 61-57. Big10 b-ball is gonna be insane this year.

I forget the exact number, but they said something like 10 Big Ten teams in the top 40 of the Net rankings. Crazy good conference this year.

I’m probably in the 5% minority, but Ohio State’s coach is vastly overrated. Ohio St was clearly the more talented and athletic team, but Holtmann tried to out Wisconsin Wisconsin. He’ll win some big games, but he ALWAYS loses games Ohio State should win. I think he’s a cookie cutter coach and I’m not sold on him yet. I’ll prob get criticized for it, but I just don’t see the player development. Starters like Andre Wesson and Luther Muhammad are very average players and haven’t really gotten better at all. DJ Carton is an absolute stud who should seriously consider transfering. His talent is being wasted in Holtmanns system. They need to unleash him. Anyway, Ohio St is about lose their next games as well @Maryland and @Indiana and will be sitting at 1-4 in the B1G. Again, I’m just not sold on this coach.

That's ok if you think like that, but you're wrong. Wesson was and is never going to be an elite player. He does alot of things just doesn't excel at anything. Our recruiting is getting better each year and this team will still make the elite 8 and I'll be here to tell you I told you so

He's a great coach and especially the best coach we could have gotten at that time of the year

I would’ve rather had Bobby Huggins as head coach than Holtmann. The same Huggins that just outcoached Holtmann on Sunday. All I can say is we will see, relying on Kaleb Wesson isn’t getting you very far. Also, Ohio St class next year is VERY average. A 3* and a 4* and that’s it. All I’m saying is I think he’s a good coach, not elite. This program is Top 35 program...and that’s it.

Yup, you’re a dumbass.

And your Browns takes this year back that up.

Aren’t you such a tough guy lol. Can’t take hearing a differing opinion? You probably think Holtmann is better than Thad huh?

Huggins knows more about Ohio high school basketball than Holtmann EVER will.

Huggins most definitely can recruit the state of Ohio, it would have been interesting if he ever got hired here. He has many connections through the state but I'm not sure how well the well off boosters would deal with his attitude sometimes.

Either way I think Holtmann is a great coach and we are struggling a little bit at the moment but we will play well down the stretch and make another deep run

Another deep run? Holtmann hasn’t made it past the rd of 32 at Ohio St.

I’m okay with Holtmann, would have love to have seen Brad Stevens come back to college though.

Bookmarked elite 8 prediction.

Going to be on the bubble and have to do a 10 10 play-in vs missouri valley #3.

This would qualify as a hot take. Will remember to pull this thread back up in a couple months.

Yea but we have better players than Ohio State as well as a better coach

Only reason it took so long for us to get ranked is we were on no ones radar bc how bad we were last year.

8 players from last year are gone

Never claimed that, but I like my chances against a keyboard warrior.

Of course I can. But if I think that opinion is dumb, I’ll call it dumb.

Not yet. But Holtmann is on practically the same rise as Thad.
