Why are y'all protecting this guy?

And TatGate and a couple of horrible coaching hires. I have no idea. I'd be fine with Gene Smith gone.

Because he didn't do his job. If you have a known wife beater on your staff and you keep him regardless you make the University look like it condones wife beating.

Why are OSU fans so tone deaf to this?

Because the only proven incident was 10 years ago, and nothing after that point was even significant enough for the police to really get involved too deeply. They did preliminary investigations and moved on.

Why are other fanbases so tone deaf on the facts of what has occurred/didn't occur here? No one condones domestic violence, but if there hasn't been one confirmed instance of domestic violence of Zach Smith at OSU, then how can you get rid of the HC. Because you think he knew something that the police didn't investigate?

Yea the police being called a dozen times and the 2015 incident are not evidence. Meyer's wife knew about it and she told Meyer, but hey keep living in ignorance buddy.

OSU fans are a joke

Sure. Urban may have done nothing wrong but if it's true that he told Smith, smith gotta go.

As for the others, all I'm saying is Smith has been the Overall man in charge while all of these things happened. I'm kinda just shocked the OSU board didn't just throw him under the bus from the start.

Think he's supposed to tell the Title IX coordinator or someone to that effect if my understanding of that regulation is correct, the OSU Title IX regulation is not limited to the alleged incidences between OSU people, extends to interactions between an OSU person and a third party, I've read the regulation a billion times I'm sure this is correct but correct me if I'm wrong

The analysis is what degree of civil litigation will OSU face if they decide to retain Meyer. That analysis is not just for this incident, but anything else that COULD arise. If OSU sticks with him they "own" him and all of the others that may come out of the woodworks trying to get a piece for any variety of alleged transgressions/misconduct. The narrative will be that the university cares about winning above all, and every plaintiff's attorney will try to paint that picture in future actions. Plus, reporters these days ONLY want to collect scalps of fired coaches. You can rest assured that if Meyer stays, journalist will be furious and he will be a marked many with scores of journalist trying to take him down. They will be more than happy to seek others who may have some kind of complaint that can somehow be tied in Meyer.

Cutting ties with Meyer largely ends the war. Sticking with him means future slings and arrows are coming with full force. Potential Plaintiffs will see OSU as vulnerable, and the media will be thirsty to take down the "target" they missed. If Meyer stays, this incident is not the end, but only the beginning

It will be interesting to see what OSU does

Those people can suck a dick, CUM's one of the greatest college HCs of all-time and this concerns the domestic relationship between a WR coach and his (now) ex-wife, he's not a cop yes he's obligated to report this stuff per Title IX regulations but his legal responsibility starts and ends there. Did Urban exercise poor judgment in retaining Smith that long with all that baggage? Absolutely. Would retaining Smith that long constitute a fireable offense per his contract? Absolutely. Does the fact that Smith is Earle Bruce's grandson and that Bruce was Urban's mentor make this entire narrative weird and murky and suggest possible conflict of interest? Absolutely. Does Urban have a reputation for being too permissive with problem players and coaches? Absolutely. NOW heres the bottom-line: WILL OSU fire CUM with all thats at stake monetarily and football-wise? I mean the seasons about to start, OSU's ranked no. 5 overall, it literally makes ZERO SENSE for OSU to topple and screw its entire football program over something like this, which obviously isn't the level of Penn State and Baylor, cost-benefit analysis, my bro.

Fine Urban a million bucks, donate money to abuse shelter, require urban to attend domestic abuse classes and give talks to domestic abuse groups during the off season. That should cover it. Right?

Maybe. But don't think for a second the sharks won't smell blood in the water if he is retained. Just see Michigan St. earlier this year. The creep doctor gets convicted. But that doesn't end the whole affair. The media then turns their crosshairs on Izzo and Dantonio for helping perpetuate a school culture of turning a blind eye to sexual assault.

LINK

Sure, you could argue sexual assault is different. But is it THAT much different that domestic assault? If Meyer stays, you can be almost anything there will be other stories claiming he turned a blind eye towards domestic battery. It would likely come from girlfriends of former players. And make no mistake, every ding-a-ling in the media will be on the hunt to make a name for himself.

I can completely understand the argument that Meyer shouldn't lose his job. But with the nature of our society today, there are too many people out for profit would would LOVE to piggyback off this issue in order to take him down and collect a nice payday from OSU.

Does OSU have the stomach to defend their decision from the angry masses?
