Well round 3 is finished, Bubba is up by 3, -17 under. IMO hell walk away with the win, Tiger and Rory both at -9 could be playing together tomorrow. Should be another interesting round

Anybody know who caught up and tied Tiger today?
Rory has been talked about plenty today. We know.
Also, I mentioned Bubba both times, so of you want to chastise someone talk to peej about extending the Tiger talk

Can we please rename the weekly golf threads to the "Tiger Woods Round" thread? I just searched the last two pages and found 2 small comments about the leader of the tournament, Bubba Watson. Not a single other golfer, other than Toms who withdrew, has been mentioned in the last 40 posts.

I taped the broadcast while I played today. Watching it now. I want Bubba's game so damn bad. I have PING clubs. I've got the bad arse visor. Where the 360 yard bombs, 20 yard draws, and banana slices on purpose?

Do you have a pink driver?

I found it interesting towards the end they were talking about him working on his in round focus and that in years past he would just go off in his own little world and completely forget what he was supposed to be doing. His game is phenomenal, not sure how it translates to tougher courses where hitting driver every hole will get him into some trouble. Great 3 rounds so far though

I like Adam Scott!!!
Seems like he lost some steam on the last few holes. I think the only guy that can beat Bubba is Keagan Bradley, I don't think Rose has it in him. Bradley just bothers me with post shot mannerisms, all that leaning and twisting and whatnot

Watching him putt puts me in the camp of those wanting to outlaw the belly putter.

I'll miss it once again. Played golf today. Kids have ball tomorrow. I'll just keep up with the tournament by getting home and reading this thread.

Im gonna miss a good portion of it too, Flying back to BR, I've been in San Antonio visiting the gf. I get into NO at 3 though so I'll be able to catch the last few holes

I felt a little bit like Bubba Watson today. Hit a couple of good shots while feeling completely off balance on my follow through. Bubba seems to not be able to hold his finish a good bit of the time.
Posted on 3/10/12 at 7:53 pm to Choupique19
Yeah it's weird he always seems off balance, but I think has has to do with him hitting shots with 20+ yards off movement though, and the fact that it seems like he's trying to hit it 400 yds on every hole

That punch shot he hit for no apparent reason on his approach on 18 was pretty freaking cool. Damn, I have a major man crush on his game.
Posted on 3/10/12 at 8:41 pm to prostyleoffensetime
I think there are quite a few people that have a crush on his game, including me
However I don't think his game translates to most courses because he's kind of all over the place. At Doral he gets away with it because he can out hit the danger on most holes.

I was standing at the tee box on one of the back 9 holes for the Zurich classic last year when Bubba was blasting his tee shot. He pulled it a little bit into the right rough, but he crushed it. The sound coming off the clubhead and the way the ball just jumped off of his club was phenominal. I guess it would be like watching Josh Hamilton in batting practice. It's just different coming off of his club than others.

One of the perks of working a few tournaments a year for TV networks (mostly CBS) years ago was having the media credential that allowed you inside the ropes and on the driving range and putting green. One thing that was verified very quickly is that these guys played a game with which I was unfamiliar. And I'm talking 20 years ago when technology wasn't as advanced as it is today.
