Before totals were released this week I had four games on the whole board where I circled for totals, WF/UL was one of the unders I liked from a pure statistical standpoint. The number came out way too low for me to see any value in it so I passed. Not trying to tell you the under will hit because it may not, but there are definite statistical reasonings behind the number. Both teams defense's are better than the offenses, specifically on the line of scrimmage.

I run line of scrimmage numbers in which I divide sacks by pass attempts and tackles for loss by rush attempts to get "raw numbers" for how good a teams pass protection and run blocking is on both sides of the ball.

Rankings (Out of 128 teams, 128 being the worst)
Wake Forest
Pass Protect - 117
Run Block - 127
Pass Rush - 38
Run Stuff - 43

Louisville
Pass Protect - 105
Run Block - 98
Pass Rush - 31
Run Stuff - 25

Once again these numbers are raw (not strength of schedule adjusted) and they are a very simple rating of the line of scrimmage, but I often use it as an indicator. In this case both defensive line numbers dominate the offensive side of the ball, you often get a very sloppy game when I see a mismatch this big. Think USF/UConn last Friday night, it had similar numbers.

Also both teams like to Air it Out (both are in the Top 30 in the country in pass attempt %), while both defensive units have been strong against the Pass.

Just my two cents I don't have a play in the game.

All of this. I promise WF offense is not much, not 1 playmaker on that offense.

However, I bet the U in the WF vs USU game a few weeks back and there was maybe 3 or 4 defensive TDs that ruined that for me. So just be careful with those low totals.

Any thoughts on the Mich St game at 11?
-28.5
OU: 47

My first thought is that Sparty rolls and easily covers. They have a big game next week against Nebraska however. If they cover the 29, then I think he over easily reaches.

Wyoming is not a terrible team. They will go into East Lansing with a well prepared gameplan. Add the fact Sparty could be looking ahead to Neb I see much better bets on the board

My two early picks are now decided.
Sparty
TCU

I'm 5-1 on the week. My only loss thus far was the Fresno over and they left 30 points on the field last night. My only problem is that I loaded up on that over, which negated the good work I'd put in this week up to that point. It was a good bet, just didn't reach.

I'm of the mindset today that I'm the gorilla in the room with a chainsaw for a cock when it comes to me bending the book over. It's going to be a glorious day with fewer bets but larger wagers.

What do you guys think about the under for A&M and Ark at 72? I feel like both teams will obviously score but Ark will try, with some success I believe, to eat the game away by running the ball.

Tennessee+17 anybody? UT plays UGA very tight for the most part. UGA has only own by 17 or more twice in the last 20 years. In the last 3 or 4 years UGA has barely beaten horrible UT teams by slim margins. With this being one of the best UT teams in the past few years I would have to think they keep it close

I like it... UTs defensive front and LBs are good enough to limit Gurley and UGAs running game. It's an early kick, which should favor the road underdog. UGA is still struggling in the passing game, and I don't think their offensive line is all that good.

Vols will keep it close and lose by 10.
