I am not hating on tiger. I just stated that there is a better chance of him missing the cut than leading by multiple shots after todays round.

IMO tiger only benefits from an extremely difficult course when he is at his very best. The good, but not great tiger we've see for the better part of the last 6 or 7 years benefits from an easier course. It's when he is firing on all cyllinders at a really tough course that you really see how much better than everyone else he can be. But my point is that it's been kind of a false assumption for awhile that a harder course is always an advantage to tiger.

I'm waiting to see what he does in today's rounds. Yesterday the afternoon players were playing a tougher course. If TW gets it around par or 1 or 2 under I think he'll be leading.

i personally think at least 5 under will be leading ... we will see ..

The greens were just rock hard all day yesterday. It'll be interesting to see if they water the hell out of them this morning so we see a little more scoring. If so that would be a nice advantage to the morning guys.

I agree with this, seems like he finally can work the ball in both directions with consistency, different trajectories, etc.
Not necessarily. This is what he had the most trouble with yesterday, and the announcers made note of it several times. Hell on 2 he had a little half wedge in, a shot that used to be his bread and butter and he flew the hole and it rolled out to the back fringe. He had numerous issues with this on the front.

I doubt he misses the cut but he does play in the afternoon. it will make a diffrence in scoring. Thompson will fall like a rock today. Book It.

After today? I'd say there is a 1% chance of that

If 5 under is leading the USGA jackets will make Olympic tougher than it already is.

You know what you are watching they are probably letting the rough grow up right now, because some one went out and shot a 67.

If someone goes to -5 the final winning score will be +4

I watched a little bit of the open yesterday afternoon after Michael Thompson had already finished his round. No mention of Thompson in about the 30 minutes I was watching. Hell they only showed the leader board once. All they kept talking about was Tiger Phil and Bubba. I decided I would just catch the highlights before I went to bed on the "sports center at the US open". Watched it for 20 minutes and NO mention of Thompson. The kid LAPS the field on the first day and I can't even see a shot of his bc of the Tiger Phil Bubba bullshite. Awesome coverage ESPN. Also Berman is garbage

Who is going to do it. Here are your options:
1 player who would have to shoot a 69
5 payers who would have to shoot a 66
7 players who would have toshoot a 65
7 players who would have to shoot a 64
1 player who would have to shoot a 50.

Yep, should be Rory, Luke, and Lee's group as the feature group; although the group of Ryo, Rickie, and Dustin played better and would make for better watching. I'm biased though.

not really. the way he is hitting the ball, there is a better chance he shoots 65 than 80.

Your numbers are a little off. There are eight players at even and eight at one over ... about 40 total with a shot to get to five under .. Like I said it happens about half the time at the US Ope. and about 80 percent of the time when you have this many people under par after round one ... No clue who will do it but I just think it will happen ..

but if he shoots 65 - he will not be leading by multiple shots - IMHO
