Other than his victory in 2001, he doesn't have that great a record at Sawgrass. Rumor has it he severely dislikes the course and the design.

I think most of the advise/criticism that Tiger is receiving is to quit thinking about his swing so much. He's way too technical right now. Just relax and swing the club. Just like a baseball player can't be thinking about 5 different things while the pitch is coming to the plate, a golfer can't be thinking about posture, hips, setting my hands, elbow in, etc. Tiger needs to use the KISS method. Keep It Simple Stupid!

flip side to that is he is in the middle of a swing change. that requires being mechanical until it becomes ingrained in you. if he were to just go play golf, he would revert to his old swing patterns. he says he has done this 2 times in the past and was mechanically for a time with all of the changes. once he gets enough reps and fully trusts it, he will stop being so mechanical.
