Sucks for Dutchtown. This is their best team ever, and they have no chance of getting to the Dome IMO.

If Turner stays healthy, I don't think any team besides STM will even come close to beating them. You never know though, if a team jumps out like Leesville did, they may have a chance.

we have one stud, and serviceable speed and power situation backs, a versatile WR/CB/P prob. not enough to scare WM. our QB and O-line, i don't think is good enough.

if they run the ball like higgins, we kept them bottled up except for two big plays, but WM might have 3x the athletes and muscle higgins had. i know that was years ago before anyone current was playing but i remember that WM guy ran down the St. Aug guy in the state semifinals at tad gormley.

i'm under no illusion though. a blowout wouldn't hurt me as much as west jeff's did, because i thought west jeff would be a closer game. i just want it to feel like a playoff game for a quarter maybe, and then after cheer for individual plays lol

Westwego, it's the farthest you can go while still being on the westbank.

You never know how it will go. I remember WM turning the ball over like crazy in the playoffs a few years ago, against Sulphur I believe.

Lsutigers1992 Dutchtown has to get to the Semis first. Once a team makes it there anything can happen. That's why the games are played. What if the injury bug takes out a teams starting QB or a team makes a bunch of turnovers. I learned a long time ago never to assume anything with high school kids. Dutchtown making it to the semi finals would be a school first for them. They are also a very young team and are getting better every year. The school improves every year. It's only been open a few years. I would not assume Dtown or any other top 5-10 seed has no chance to make the dome.

Have any of you looked at the 4A bracket? How in the hell does Salmen get a 2 seed and Franklinton a 6 seed when Franklinton beat Salmen and only Franklinton is undeafeated in the District? That is messed up right there.

I still don't realize why so many people are surprised that WM is the #4 seed, they've only been a top 2 seed twice since 2002. They're one of 4 10-0 teams in 5A with a fairly mediocre district. The size of the district also hurts they PR. But really, all that matters now is what happens in the games.

Here's WM's seeding and finish since 2002:
2002: #10 seed - lost in Finals to Evangel
2003: #6 seed - lost in Semi-Finals to Evangel
2004: #4 seed - lost in Finals to Evangel
2005: #4 seed - State Champions - defeated Acadiana
2006: #4 seed - Lost in Regionals to Sulphur
2007: #3 seed - Lost in Regionals to Acadiana
2008: #1 seed - Lost in Finals to Destrehan
2009: #2 seed - State Champions - defeated Rummel

Also, it's pretty rare that #1 and #2 meet up in the Dome in 5A anyway, the last 2 years it's happened, but those were the only 2 times since 2002 it has.

Which is also why I think Dutchtown doesn't get to the Dome. I'll also go out on a limb and say that I don't think they make it to the semis to take on West Monroe. I do think we'll have a #4 vs #2 matchup come December 11....but watch out for #26 Acadiana. A semi with them versus STM is very possible. I really think that the kids and coaches at Acadiana will be out on a mission through the playoffs since they had to forfeit those 4 games and fall so far down in the power rankings.

2002 - #1 Evangel over #10 West Monroe
2003 - #5 Hahnville over #10 Evangel
2004 - #6 Evangel over #4 West Monroe
2005 - #4 West Monroe over #3 Acadiana
2006 - #6 Acadiana over #13 Sulphur
2007 - #1 Destrehan over #14 Acadiana
2008 - #2 Destrehan over #1 West Monroe
2009 - #2 West Monroe over #1 Rummel

Not only that, but they are on the same side of the braket and would meet in the Semi's. And IMHO they or by far the best two teams in 4a.

None of that matters. Head-to-head doesn't matter. District champ vs non-district champ. Does. Not. Matter.

Franklinton is a GREAT team...but their schedule was weak with their opponents having a combined record of 45-54, including the following:
- one 0-10 team
- one 1-9 team
- one 3-7 team
- two 4-6 teams
- one 5-5 team

They did play three 5A schools which gave their rating a slight boost.

Salmen's opponents had a slightly better combined record of 46-43.

I think salmen and franklinton are the best two teams, but Karr will have a big size advantage and they are a very fast team. The only lost they have is against St.Paul who is a top seed in 5a.
