4 on 4 opens up the ice and presumably creates more scoring opportunities.

OT used to be 5 on 5 but games would often end in a tie. In an attempt to open up the games the NHL first opted to go with 4 on 4 overtime.

i feel like it changes the dynamic of the game too much tho. What if NBA changed to 3 on 3 in overtime. whos got the 3 best players? you win.
