Why is the crowd so empty?

That's weird. I know it's raining and they canceled play everywhere else, but I would think the two courts with a roof are full.

Dammit, I meant to look at the live odds for Swiatek when Osaka went up 3-0 in the 3rd.

I got in on Osaka at +600 at 4-4 in the first set to win $300. She will probably gag it away.

Not like they lower the price or let other ticket holders in… plus it’s a Wednesday.

This Stan pretty match is pretty lit... winner plays Sinner.

There’s some chatter about Sinner tweaking something late in the 3rd set. Cramps were mentioned as a possibility but that would be strange in a short match. Probably nothing major but you never know, especially with him.

Agree 100% it's like Samson got a haircut or something; like his mojo is gone.

I mean, it's inevitable, and he is 37 and I would imagine its a combination of both. I think Fed's last major was 2018 AO at which time he was 36, and the decline was fairly rapid considering the level he was used to playing at. Rafa is obviously done as a week in and week out force (if not all together), and he's a year older than Jokovic. He may make deep runs or even win another Aussie or something, but unless Alcaraz/Sinner/Med/Rub remain healthy, he's gonna have a hard time. We'll see in about 10 days how well this posts ages lol.

I've been watching tennis for more than 45 years and enjoyed and appreciated the players and different styles/eras along the way, and this feels like one of those transition periods from one era to the next. As much as I've enjoyed the last 20 years of what the ATP has been, I'm ready for the next era.

Yea I agree I think the transition period is already here and Joker has been insane for an incredibly long time but his age is showing.
The margin for error is so low at that level that there becomes a point where you just cant hang w the younger generation

Jokers serve, groundstrokes, and reaction times are still incredible, but at a point, you have to be able to put yourself in position to make the shots and that comes down to mobility

This Cobolli v Rune tilt is fun to watch. Rune holding on by his fingernails. The Florentine kid is playing incredibly and Rune is all of a sudden in God Mode coming from 0-5 in the Super Breaker back to 6-6.

Seems strange to see all that crowd love for Rune. Some Italian hate mixed in there?

He had a Djokovic 2011 US Open moment down 5-1. Ruined a very good out wide serve from Cobolli with a laser backhand return down the line for a winner. Hit another one almost just like it to draw even.

Trigger warning the Belarusian lady just won. This is the flag of Belarus. That's where she is from.

At least they're showing something for her. Belarusians have been getting the Russian treatment. I see no flag for her on Google match scores.
