Luongo out the door? Ya think the NY Islanders are mad for trading him 11 years ago?

I think they're shopping Schneider.

I have Ward and Crawford as my top 2, and I picked Schneider to get me cheap wins (16-4 last year). If he gets traded somewhere and starts a lot, my goalies will be in beast mode.

Not a comforting win. Caps were totally outplayed, but came away with two points somehow. Asham is gonna get gutted, BTW. Bragging about knocking Jay Beagle unconcious? Beagle's not a fighter, and to do a victory dance after you knock him out just solidfiies your own goon status. And not in a good way.

I do like the Meat and Potatoes Line, though. They're the only forwards playing well right now.

I gave Washington 0 percent chance of winning that game tonight after Pittsburgh tied it up. Shocked they even got it to OT.

Suggestions needed for my fantasy team from my fellow NHLers:

Situation:

I have Ryan Kesler and Martin Havlat coming off the IR this weekend, so I have to cut two players.

The candidates:
Chris Kunitz, LW, PIT (playing on the top line right now, don't know what happens when Sid comes back)
Bryan Little C/RW, WPG (Top C in Winnipeg, but Winnipeg appears to be terrible)
Sergei Kostitsyn, LW, NSH (2nd line in Nashville, probably one guy to go)
David Legwand, C, NSH (On fire right now)
Erik Cole, LW/RW, MON (26 G / 26 A last year, not getting ice time right now)
Anton Babchuk, D, CGY (If I cut him, it leaves me with no Ds on my bench)

I'm leaning toward dropping Kostitsyn and Babchuk until I figure out who's going to be better out of Cole, Legwand and Little, and then dropping the worst of those three to get a D.

Thoughts?

I would drop babchuck and kostitsyn. Defenders do very little for you in fantasy except to get pims unless you have a guy like byfuglien or lidstrom.

I never keep a defenseman on the bench. Having an extra forward is too valuable.

Carolina start the season 0-3 then win at home vs Boston and then on the road against Buffalo.

Cam Ward is in full beast mode.

Good current trend for teams like la, anahiem, buffalo,rangers.. Last two Stanley Cup champs started their journey in Europe as the season openers.

buffalo has the best shot out of those team to win a cup. rangers have no chance. theyre going to be a lot worse than everyone thinks they are. they can't score and they can't defend

Sharkies outshot the Quackers like crazy, but lose 1-0.

Going to see the Aeros kick some San Antonio arse tonight. Aeros 2-0 and Matt Hackett is a frickin stone wall in goal!

Colorado has really impressed me the most so far.

Hopefully Gabriel Landeskog doesn't get send back down to the juniors.

He's the toughness they need on their PK units. IMO.
