Sources: Kyrie Irving has requested and received permission from the Nets to find sign-and-trade offers from other teams. Kevin Durant still hasn't spoken to Nets front office. Russell Westbrook to Brooklyn remains unlikely. More for @NYDNSports

The belief among both league and player circles is that Irving is gone and the Seven-Eleven Era is over before it ever began. Irving only appeared in 103 regular-season games in Brooklyn, a three-year run ravaged in Year 1 by a nagging shoulder injury; in Year 2 due to absences for personal reasons; and in Year 3 due to Irving’s unwillingness to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in a city that didn’t create a professional athlete exemption in its vaccine mandate until weeks before the NBA playoffs began.

The Nets, as the Daily News reported in late May, have been unwilling to give Irving a long-term contract extension with significant financial guarantees. They do not believe Irving is committed to doing what it takes to be on the floor every game for his teammates.

Kyrie is a free agent.

A sign and trade would benefit the team he won't re-sign with.

There's no logical path for Kyrie to get to LAL.

No logical path but this is Kyrie. He really might just sign for $6 million.

Think its truly about clicks and socials to muddy up the waters... it's easy to talk about...the people who say they have no interest in the lakers or kyrie and hate both and despise them yada yada are the same ones who read the articles and continue to share and talk about it...

so if you tune in to any of the ESPN crappy day time tv shows or skip/shannon style you'll see them talking about it because they got the consensus public hook/line/sinker...

ESPN Sources: Outside of the Lakers, there are currently no known teams planning pursuit of sign-and-trades for Nets G Kyrie Irving. No sign-and-trades can be formally discussed until after 6 PM on Thursday. Brooklyn isn't believed to have interest in available Lakers packages.

I know and it would probably be a shite show even if he somehow did. I was posting that more about the reports of him trying to force his way back to Lebron

Kyrie Irving is expected to decline his option for the 2022-23 season, setting up a possible exit to free agency.

Irving’s deadline to exercise his $35.6 million option for next season is Wednesday. ESPN reported the two sides are likely to meet to discuss a contract, but that meeting could take place after the option deadline passes.

I did make the mistake of associating with logic with Kyrie though.
