If the award is actually the most "valuable" player on their team, I don't even know what the argument would be other than Jovic. Take Jovic off this Denver team and they are in the lottery.
Jovic plays for the Heat

The Nuggets don’t have enough firepower to keep pace with the elite teams in the NBA.

they do, most of the NBA has issues with OKC's pace though.
put the nuggets against a team like the Cavs or the Lakers and they match up fine.

This is a nonsensical response. I was curious if you'd try to defend that garbage take, and the clear answer is no.

Nuggets are also at a pretty big rest disadvantage in this game. Would be interested to see both teams evenly rested.

Jokic keeping this game even close is pretty impressive honestly.
you can never count him out of any game/series
his ability to put a team on his back is phenomenal

Also playing almost this entire game without AG. Feels like the Nuggets need a healthy AG to have any real shot in the playoffs and that's starting to look less and less likely.
Guy has be hurt off and on the entire season.

One could argue AG is their second most important player because his game meshes so well with Jokic's. It's a big loss if he's not healthy by the playoffs.

Wow haha never seen that before

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hits a 3 to give him his NBA-leading 11th 40 point game.
And an 18 point lead over the Nuggets.
He’s the MVP.

I'm sorry but even though SGA has been good, he isn't doing anything special to me. He just happens to have more talent around him than Jokic.

Head to head
Jokic was -13 in his minutes
SGA was +11 in his minutes
/end thread

That's a team stat genius.

I want a title more than I want to see an MVP. KD and Russ got those. But no ring. Gotta finish this off.

SGA Cooked but as far as I know they don't give out MVPs for one game

The Jokic elbow injury was unfortunate. Feel like the nuggets might sit him tomorrow because he's also had a banged up ankle and knee.
